Rabbit anti-P2 antisera, depleted with Prn2 lacking the R1 variable sequence, showed a residual 18% reactivity with Prn1, indicating the residual antibodies were epitope-specific. The Prn1, Prn2, and Prn3 proteins differ in the number of GGAVP and GGFGP repeats contained in the R1 region.
