Rabbit anti-P3 antisera, depleted with Prn3 lacking the R1 variable sequence, showed a residual 6% reactivity with Prn2, indicating the residual antibodies were epitope-specific. The Prn1, Prn2, and Prn3 proteins differ in the number of GGAVP and GGFGP repeats contained in the R1 region.
