Rabbit anti-P2 antisera, depleted with Prn lacking the R2 epitope sequence, showed a residual 2%, 1%, and 1% reactivity with Prn1, Prn2, and Prn 3, respectively, indicating the residual antibodies were epitope-specific and region 2 has low immunogenicity in rabbits. The R2 epitope sequence is identical in Prn1, Prn2, and Prn 3.
