Antibodies reacted with homologous (CFA/I) and heterologous colonization factors (CS1, CS2 and PCFO166) in both ELISA and Western blot assays. However, no reactivity was found against CS4 or CS5. CS2 contains the N-terminal amino acid sequence VDPTIDLMQSDGTAL, which shares homology with the epitope.
