A plasma pool from peanut-allergic patients did not react with the epitope. The epitope was generated by a 16-h peptic digestion of Ara h 1, separated by size exclusion chromatography under denaturing conditions, and identified by MALDI-TOF. The epitope contained part of a previously identified epitope, indicating it is pepsin-susceptible.
