Rapid pathotyping of Newcastle disease virus using a single-chain Fv displayed on phage against the C-terminal end of the F2 polypeptide.
|
| description: |
The epitope was synthesized with N-terminal Cys-Lys residues.
The epitope-specifc phage displayed scFv clone L21D7 reacted with 25 of 28 virulent NDV isolates tested, including isolates GB Texas and Roakin. The authors suggest that L21D7 may be used to identify ND isolates as virulent using unpurified antigen, since it recognizes the C-terminal sequence RRQ created after cleavage of the fusion protein in virulent strains.
