The epitope-specific mAbs recognized strain A2 in HeLa-infected cells. Binding of both mAbs was not affect in mutants with double mutations. Mutation of all 4 epitopic residues greatly reduced binding of strain A2, establishing these residues critical for recognition by the mAbs.
