description:	The epitope-specifc mAb(s) recognized HRV serotype 1 strains K8, Wa, S12, and KU. The mAb did not react with HRV strains of serotype 2, 3 or 4 and did not react with Simian rotavirus SA11 or RRV (serotype 3), or bovine rotavirus NCDV (serotype 6). Neutralization-resistant mutants of strain KU selected with mAb K8-3C10 had Q104L, D145N, and M217T substitutions.
