description:	This cyclic peptide was synthesized to mimic the crystallographically observed beta-hairpin conformation that region KDTNNNL adopts in the native PorA protein. The additional residues were chosen to generate a contra-turn of type II' beta-turn. Antibody titers to whole cell bacteria in ELISA were tested as described in Hoogerhout et al, 1995, Infect. Immun. 63, 3473–3478 [PMID: 7543883].
