The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Pervaiz and Brew (1985) Science 228: 335-337 [PMID: 2580349].
The epitope-specific mAb 31A4 bound with a higher affinity to reduced and carboxymethylated beta-LG than to native beta-LG, as shown by competitive ELISA. Binding to renatured beta-LG was between the affinities for native and RCM beta-LG.
