name:
Structure-function analyses of diphtheria toxin by use of monoclonal antibodies.
description:
The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Greenfield et al. (1983) Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 80: 6853-6857 [PMID: 6316330].
The epitope recognized by mAb 43A4 was determined based on its reactivity with overlapping fragments of diphtheria toxin. MAb 43A4 recognized the epitope which contains the diphtheria toxin receptor-binding site. A study published elsewhere determined the epitope to be within residues 506-514.
