name:
Neutralizing antibodies derived from the B cells of 1918 influenza pandemic survivors.
description:
This residue is located at the antigenic region Sa. It was involved in the binding of a mAb from a 1918 Influenza pandemic survivor by analysis of escape mutants of the related virus Sw/30 after incubation with the mAb.
MIce were infected intranasally with five LD50 of 1918 reconstituted virus. Doses of 200 μg of mAb administered 24 hs later provided significant protection, with no mortality and significantly reduced weight loss and virus titers in the lungs.
