| name: |
Characterization of dengue virus complex-specific neutralizing epitopes on envelope protein domain III of dengue 2 virus.
|
| description: |
These residues were determined to be critical for the definition of the DENV complex-specific epitope. Other residues (K307, P384, L387) are involved but not critical, and are considered to be in the periphery of the epitope. Residue K310 is conserved in many Dengue type 2 strains (but not in Malaysia 87a and 87b), as well as in Dengue type 1 (OBS7690), type 3 (H87) and type 4 (703-4). Residue I312 is conserved in many Dengue type 2 strains (but not in Malaysia 86), but not in other Dengue types. Residue P332 is conserved in many Dengue type 2 strains as well as in the other Dengue types. Residue L389 is conserved in many Dengue type 2 strains as well as in Dengue type 1 (OBS7690) and type 4 (703-4). Residue W391 is conserved in many Dengue type 2 strains as well as in the other Dengue types.
Affinity towards the recombinantly expressed Envelope domain 3 (ED3) was determined for the epitope specific mAb.
