This residue was determined to be critical for the definition of the DENV complex-specific epitope. Other residues (I312, P332, L389) are involved but not critical, and are considered to be in the periphery of the epitope. Residue K310 is conserved in many Dengue type 2 strains (but not in Malaysia 87a and 87b), as well as in Dengue type 1 (OBS7690), type 3 (H87) and type 4 (703-4).
PRNT50 titers were determined for the epitope-specific mAb(s) by inhibition of infectivity on monkey kidney Vero cells.
