| name: |
Pollen-related food allergy: cloning and immunological analysis of isoforms and mutants of Mal d 1, the major apple allergen, and Bet v 1, the major birch pollen allergen.
|
| description: |
Residue Ser111was demonstrated to be important for serum IgE binding to Mal d 1 in a murine model of the type I allergic reaction. Mutation of Ser111 to Pro or Cys in Mad d 1 reduced the release of beta-hexosaminidase activity from RBL-2H3 cells passively sensitized with mouse IgE specific for birch pollen extract and challenged with Mad d 1 isoallergens.
