The epitope is a construct of FMDV type O1K VP1 residues 200-213 (RHKQKIVAPVKQTL) linked to residues 141-158 (VPNLRGDLQVLAQKVART).
Half of the animals immunized with the O 200-O 141 vaccine constructed from FMDV type O1 sequences were protected from challenge with FMDV O1 BFS virus. Combining all doses tested, 10 of 20 animals were protected. At higher doses, 3 of 5 animals were protected.
