| name: |
A major continuous allergenic epitope of bovine beta-lactoglobulin recognized by human IgE binding.
|
| description: |
The epitope was deduced from the reactivity of sera from cow's milk allergic children against overlapping hexamers spanning the length of Beta-lactoglobulin. The epitope was then shown to inhibit the same sera from binding to the Beta-lactoglobulin protein. The overall percentages of inhibition were between ~5-70, with the average about 30%.
