description:	Residues Cys3 and Cys19 and Cys15 and Cys33 are disulfide bonded. The epitope inhibited (>25%) the binding of serum IgE to alpha-lactalbumin. The -reduced and carboxymethylated epitope inhibited the binding of serum IgE to the epitope better than the epitope.
