Anti-alpha-gliadin antibodies (AGA) in the serum of coeliac children and controls recognize an identical collection of linear epitopes of alpha-gliadin.
|
| description: |
The minimal epitope recognized by the majority (>75%) of serum IgA from 10 children with celiac disease was determined by truncation analysis of the immunodominant peptide 23-43 (PLVQQQQFLGQQQPFPPQQPY). Greater than 50% of sera also recognized the truncated peptide LGQQQPFPPQQPY. Three dominant gliadin peptides share the repetitive motif QPFXXQXPY.
