description:	A phage display library was screened for mAb-reactive phagotopes, and the epitope was detected in 9 of 190 clones. The epitope was also positive when tested as a fusion protein with either Hepatitis E virus structural protein or the core protein from Hepatitis B virus. Most of the peptides identified with mAb 8H5, including the epitope, had Thr, Leu, Thr and Leu at positions 2, 4, 5 and 9.
