This conserved sequence is present in 972 out of 1088 subtype H5 hemagglutinin sequences analyzed, while none of the 599 H1, 1749 H3, 204 H6, 238 H7 and 184 H9 subtypes hemagglutinin sequences analyzed contained the epitope.
The immunochemistry studies in Influenza A H1N1 infected MCDK cells were negative for specific staining with the epitope-specific mAb.
