Monoclonal antibodies against an HLA-B27-derived peptide react with an epitope present on bacterial proteins.
|
| description: |
The anti-S. flexneri bacteria mAb A7E2 was previously shown [PMID: 2187807] to cross-react with the HLA-B27 peptide 63-83 (ETQICKAKAQTDREDLRTLLR). The epitope conjugated to BSA inhibited the binding of mAb to HLA-B27-positive human cell lines and to Shigella flexneri envelope proteins as effectively as the longer peptide (63-83)-BSA conjugate.
