PrP antibody binding-induced epitope modulation evokes immunocooperativity.
description:
The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Stahl and Prusiner (1991) FASEB J 5: 2799-2807 [PMID: 1916104].
The epitope-specific mAb recognized PrP from untreated and PK-treated total brain lysates from 263K-infected hamsters. The mAb recognized the diglycosylated, monoglycosylated, and unglycosylated PrPSc forms. Denaturation with SDS, heat, or both increased reactivity of the mAb with purified PrPSc by ELISA.
