description:	The epitope sequence is obtained from the cited reference: Isola et al. (1989) J Virol 63: 2325 [PMID: 2467994]. The epitope-specific mAb recognized fragments of gD-1 of HSV-1 in cytoplasmic extracts prepared from COS-1 cells transfected with wild-type gD-1 gene fragments. Recognition of the epitope-containing fragments was also observed by immunoperoxidase assay.
