| name: |
Molecular mimicry between an immunodominant amino acid motif on the 47-kDa lipoprotein of Treponema pallidum (Tpp47) and multiple repeats of analogous sequences in fibronectin.
|
| description: |
This fibronectin peptide is conserved in human, mouse, rat guinea pig, chicken, dog and cow fibronectin.
This similar T. pallidum peptide (which is also conserved in human, mouse, rat and cow fibronectin) was recognized in direct and competition ELISA. Also, typical Arthus reaction in epitope-immunized rabbits were first noticeable at 6 h and had completely resolved by 72. The antigen peptide is acetylated at the N-terminus, and it was coupled to BSA via a C-terminal lysine or a GSGSK linker.
