The epitope-specific scFv was able to reduce amyloid deposits in the brain of passively immunized transgenic mice which developed developed Alzheimer's-like syndrome before the antibody transfer, compared to untreated mice. It was effective in clearing both diffuse and fibrillar A beta deposits.
