| name: |
Altered immune response to glycine-rich sequences of Epstein-Barr nuclear antigen-1 in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus.
|
| description: |
Patients with rheumatoid arthritis had a significantly higher antibody response to the epitope than normal subjects with viral capsid antibody. (Normal subjects without VCA were negative.) Patients with SLE or Hashimoto's thyroiditis also had an elevated antibody response. Patients with progressive systemic sclerosis or Graves' disease were positive, but not not significantly different than normal subjects with viral capsid antibody.
