description:	The epitope sequence is derived from the cited reference, Morgan and Moore, Am J Vet Res 51:40 (1990) [PMID: 2154148]. The epitope inhibited the binding to A12 FMDV by the anti-peptide VP1(137-168) antibodies purified by affinity chromatography by binding to both A12 and A24 FMDV viruses but that didn't bind A5 FMDV. The epitope did not show any inhibition for the fraction that was purified by binding to A12, A24 and A5 FMDV viruses.
