name:
CD40L disruption enhances Abeta vaccine-mediated reduction of cerebral amyloidosis while minimizing cerebral amyloid angiopathy and inflammation.
description:
The epitope vaccination of mice completely (PSAPP/CD40−/−) and partially (PSAPP/CD40+/−) deficient for CD40 yielded decreased amounts of the soluble and insoluble epitope in brain homogenates compared to those of wild type PSAPP mice. In another experiment, peripheral and cerebral Abeta1-42 levels are reduced in the epitope-immunized PSAPP mice treated with CD40L neutralizing antibody.
