In Western Blot the epitope-specific mAb reacted with the citrullinated fibrinogen (cFBG) protein but not native fibrinogen (nFBG). In ELISA, reactivity to nFBG was detected only at a high concentration. The epitope-specific mAb detected the presence of cFBG in rheumatoid arthritis synovial sera but not normal control sera in ELISA.
