Characterization of a novel protective monoclonal antibody that recognizes an epitope common to Vibrio cholerae Ogawa and Inaba serotypes.
|
| description: |
The peptide is a ligand of an anti-LPS mAb that reacts with both Ogawa and Inaba serotypes of LPS from V. cholerae.
Incubation of Vibrio cholerae of Ogawa and Inaba serotypes with the epitope-specific mAb prior to infection was protective in an infant mouse challenge model. The mAb is also shown to label both serotypes of V. cholerae in Immuno-field emission scanning electron microscopy.
