description:
The epitope-specific mAbs recognized recombinant human IGF-1 in RIA and ELISA. Cross reactivity to other IGFs and mutants was tested, with these mAbs partially cross-reacting with chicken IGF-I. Glycosylated IGF-I, IGF-II, and IGF-I mutants lacking residues 1-3 at the N-terminus of the mature chain, or with residue 3 exchanged from E to R, or with mismatched S-S linkages, are recognized at the same level as the recombinant IGF-I. The mAbs did not react with human insulin.
