name:
A neutralizing epitope of human papillomavirus type 11 is principally described by a continuous set of residues which overlap a distinct linear, surface-exposed epitope.
description:
The epitope-specific mAbs recognized HPV11 virus-like particles. Single substitution at positions 1, 8, 9, 16, and 20 resulted in a great loss of antibody, indicating these residues as critical for binding. Substitutions into the HPV16 E11 sequence conferred HPV11 mAb binding and demonstrated a continuous, conformational epitope.
