Mice were studied for the development of arthritis. Injection of the epitope-specific mAb induced arthritis at >5 days, when they were given a LPS injection. No disease was seen in the absence of mAb or of LPS. However, the severity, duration and incidence of arthritis were higher when mice received a combination of four monoclonal antibodies, even before LPS injection.
