Reductively aminated D-xylose-albumin conjugate as the immunogen for generation of IgG and IgE antibodies specific to D-xylitol, a haptenic allergen.
|
| description: |
Reactivity of affinity-purified anti D-xylitol antibodies was tested in inhibition ELISA with various sugars, sugar alcohols, and other small molecules. Inhibition of binding to D-xylitol was found to be low for all molecules tested, with almost no recognition of 2-, 3-, and 4-carbon alcohols, implying that that the portion of xylitol molecule representing carbon atoms 2 to 5 most likely represents a single epitope.
