| name: |
A survey of the prevalence of penicillin-specific IgG, IgM and IgE antibodies detected by ELISA and defined by hapten inhibition, in patients with suspected penicillin allergy and in healthy volunteers.
|
| description: |
For a donor with both IgG and IgE reactivity to Benzilpenicilloyl (BPO)-HSA, inhibition of IgE binding was tested for a series of related compounds. Several different conjugates of BPO inhibited strongly, while Benzilpenicilloic acid inhibited weakly and Benzilpenicillin was not inhibitory, as were the related structures Benzilpenilloic acid, Benzilpenicilleic acid, Ampicillin and Ampicillinoyl-HSA.
