Rabbits immunized with the epitope conjugated to BSA mounted a response to the epitope within 1 month of the primary immunization. Rabbits preimmunized with BSA showed a delayed response to the epitope, but achieved a high anti-progesterone titer after the second immunization with epitope-BSA, comparable to that of rabbits immunized with epitope-BSA only.
