name:
Epitopes of immunoreactive myelin basic protein in human cerebrospinal fluid.
description:
The epitope sequence was from the cited reference: Carnegie P. R. et al. (1971) Biochem. J. 123, 57-67. [PMID: 4108501].
The epitope inhibited New Zealand White rabbit antisera to human MBP binding to the epitope at a high level and inhibited binding to human MBP at a low level. The fragment (45-88) of human MBP inhibited binding to the epitope at a low level. The epitope directly bound New Zealand White rabbit antisera to human MBP by immunoprecipitation.
