name:
Mapping of SLE-specific Sm B cell epitopes using murine monoclonal antibodies.
description:
The epitope was deduced by immuno precipitation of in vitro translated mutants by analogy to the epitope for mAb 7.13.
The results of the immunoprecipitation show that the epitope recognized by mAb 7.13 was located in the carboxy-terminal region. A deletion of the 11 carboxy-terminal amino acids (108-119) almost entirely abolished recognition, whereas the deletion of amino acids 85-119 completely abolished reactivity of mAb 7.13. Mapping of another Sm-D-specific mAb ANA127 (IgA) gave similar results (data not shown).
