name:
Main immunogenic region of Torpedo electroplax and human muscle acetylcholine receptor: localization and microheterogeneity revealed by the use of synthetic peptides.
description:
The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Ratnam et al. (1986) Biochemistry 25: 2633-2643 [PMID: 3718969].
The epitope inhibited the binding of the mAbs to intact Torpedo AChR. The overlapping peptide 360-378 also inhibited binding. The authors conclude that the mAbs bind in the region 372-380. The mAbs did not bind any peptides in a study of overlapping peptides spanning the sequence of AChR alpha subunit.
