name:
Main immunogenic region of Torpedo electroplax and human muscle acetylcholine receptor: localization and microheterogeneity revealed by the use of synthetic peptides.
description:
The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Ratnam et al. (1986) Biochemistry 25: 2633-2643 [PMID: 3718969].
The mAbs 5 and 142 bound to the epitope in a study of overlapping peptides spanning the sequence of AChR alpha subunit. MAb 19 bound weakly to the epitope and more weakly to other peptides throughout the sequence. The epitope inhibited the binding of mAb 19 to intact Torpedo AChR.
