Superiority of thyroid peroxidase DNA over protein immunization in replicating human thyroid autoimmunity in HLA-DRB1*0301 (DR3) transgenic mice.
|
| description: |
The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Hobby et al.(2000) Endocrinology 141: 2018-2026 [PMID: 10830285]. The epitope was deduced.
Rabbit anti-epitope (p14) antiserum competed serum from hTPO immunized mice from binding to TPO, indicating the mouse sera contained antibodies to the epitope. The epitope defines the immunodominant region-B on TPO (following the nomenclature used with mouse mAbs to TPO). Sera from both DR3 NOD and C57BL/6 X CBA)F1 had antibodies to the epitope. Thyroiditis was observed in 3 of 13 DR3 NOD mice immunized with TPO and GM-CSF (or IL-12).
