name:
Immunogenicity of a unique region of the human thyrotropin receptor.
description:
On only day 56 after immunization with the epitope, both rabbits exhibited elevated T3 (triiodothyronine) values and no change in T4 (thyroxine) levels. The elevated T3 was preceded by a rise in thyroid stimulating immunoglobulin. The authors conclude that the epitope induced transient hyperthyroidism.
