name:
Antisera to synthetic peptides of lens MIP26K (major intrinsic polypeptide): characterization and use as site-specific probes of membrane changes in the aging human lens.
description:
The epitope sequence was previously described in Gorin et al, Cell:39(49) 1984 [PMID:6207938].
Binding was lost after cleavage of the MIP protein by trypsin. RIA revealed that binding increased to protein isolated from animals of increasing age, from 15 months to 62 years.
