description:	The epitope is conserved in multiple gliadin (alpha, gamma, omega) proteins. The epitope recognized by mAb R5 was determined by a luminescence binding assay to peptides on cellulose membranes. The core epitope recognized by Mab R5 was 5 residues: QQPFP, QQQFP, LQPFP, and QLPFP. Substitution of various Q residues by E decreases reactivity.
