Identification of a cross-reactive epitope widely present in lipopolysaccharide from enterobacteria and recognized by the cross-protective monoclonal antibody WN1 222-5.
|
| description: |
The epitope is defined at the junction of outer and inner core of LPS from enterobacteria, such as E. coli, S. enterica, and Shigella. Additional regions, such as lipid A backbone, the side chain Kdo, or both, are needed for the binding, but the lipids are not involved in the recognition.
The kinetic constants of the free oligosaccharide OS1 of E. coli F653 R3 type LPS core region for binding to the epitope-specific mAb WN1 222-5 was determined by SPR.
