name:
Identification of antigenic epitopes of 1D antigen recognized by antibodies in the serum of patients with thyroid-associated ophthalmopathy.
description:
The epitope sequence is from the reference cited: Dong et al. (1991) Clin Endocrinol Metab 72: 1375-1381 [PMID: 2026759].
Sera from 2 of 9 Graves' disease patients recognized the epitope expressed as a fusion protein. The reactive sera also recognized D1 fragment 426-524, suggesting an epitope is located between residues 426 and 450. Four peptides, including the epitope, were selected from a random fragment cDNA library of 1D using a pool of sera from 4 patients with thyroid associated ophthalmopathy.
