name:
Production and characterization of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies against thyrotropin-releasing hormone.
description:
The amino terminal residue of thyrotropin-releasing hormone is pyrrolidine carboxylic acid and the C-terminal residue is proline amide.
The epitope displaced the binding of mAbs 83-7B5-A1 and 83-6B6-A10 to TRH-[125I]tyramine. Binding of mAb 83-7B5-A1 was inhibited by the epitope with or without amidation of the C-terminal proline residue. The longer peptides EHPG or EHPGK, both with N-terminal pyrrolidine carboxylic acid, partially inhibited binding.
