description:	The epitope is derived from a phage-displayed random 7-mer peptide library. The epitope binding to the anti-alpha-Gal mAb could be inhibited in a dose-dependent fashion by stachiose, which is structurally similar to alpha-Gal. This indicated that the phage displayed epitope clone bound to antibody at the a-Gal antigen binding site.
