The epitope inhibited binding of epitope-specific mAb to plate-bound oxidized low density lipoprotein (oxLDL). The epitope-specific mAb recognized the phosphorylcholine head group, but not compounds analogous to the epitope such as phosphorylethanolamine and phosphoserine.
